THE CHANGING ROOM

A live experience exploring identity, self-expression, and transformation through clothing, story, and conversation.

A woman with dark brown hair and earrings sitting cross-legged on a patterned rug, smiling and gesturing with her hands. She is wearing a white blouse and blue jeans. The room has a colorful, patterned wallpaper and various cushions and belongings scattered around, with a wooden table, a lamp, and a side table in the background.

The story of The Changing Room

After more than twenty years working with women through style and personal transformation, I began noticing something.

The conversations happening in changing rooms were rarely about clothing. They were about identity, confidence, visibility, reinvention, and becoming.

I created The Changing Room as a space for women to reconnect with themselves through the deeply personal language of style and self-expression.

A tablecloth with a floral pattern in shades of red, pink, green, and beige, holds half a striped shirt with red heart accents, an open notebook with handwritten notes, a black and rose gold pen, two empty coffee mugs, a green plate with watermelon slices, and a tissue box with animal prints.

This is not a makeover

There are no rules here. No pressure to become someone else. The Changing Room is not about fixing women, but helping them reconnect with themselves through style, self-expression, and shared experience.

Through guided reflection and conversation, women begin reconnecting with the colours, textures, pieces, and stories that genuinely resonate with who they are and who they are becoming.

Because style is never just about clothing. It’s about embodiment.

What happens in The Changing Room

Each experience is shaped by the people in the room. Participants are invited to bring a small selection of meaningful pieces from their wardrobe, which become starting points for reflection, storytelling and self-discovery. The conversations are often honest, emotional, surprising and deeply affirming.

Women frequently leave with a renewed sense of clarity, confidence and connection - both to themselves and to one another.

  • “The Changing Room helped me realise how much of my past I was still holding onto through clothing. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and genuinely ready for my next chapter.”

     — Irina Hearst, life coach

  • “I arrived sceptical and left feeling inspired, energised, and far more confident in trusting my own instincts and enjoying style again without guilt.”

    — Joanna Thomas, Digital Solutions Designer

  • “The Changing Room reminded me that style isn’t superficial at all. It’s deeply connected to self-expression, identity, and how we reconnect with ourselves through change.”

    — Natalie Elfers, graphic illustrator

  • “The Changing Room completely shifted how I see style. I left feeling more connected to myself, more confident in my choices, and reminded that self-expression truly matters.”

    — Katharine Tacon, Angel of Wellness community leader & massage therapist

The Changing Room can exist as an intimate gathering, a boutique experience, a retreat conversation, a festival space or a large-scale cultural event.

Each version is thoughtfully adapted to the space, audience and atmosphere. At its heart, it remains the same:

A space for women to reconnect to themselves through style, story and shared experience.

About me

I’m a writer, stylist, and transformational mentor exploring identity, embodiment, and change through the lens of personal style..

After more than twenty years working intimately with women in changing rooms, wardrobes and transitional chapters of life, I’ve created The Changing Room: a live experience exploring the deeper emotional, psychological and cultural relationship we have with clothing.

My work invites women back into alignment with themselves through style, self-expression and conscious self-authorship.
